Joanna formed JMA HR & Legal, a niche HR, employment law and immigration practice in 2009 with a background which includes over twenty five years’ specialist employment law experience as a practising solicitor, as well as the more hands-on experience of working within an HR consultancy. She is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association (ELA), the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and is a fully trained Mental Health First Aider with Mental Health First Aid England (MHFA England).
Through her experience Joanna has advised a wide range of employers, from small owner-managed businesses to larger multi-national corporates, those operating in the public sector and charitable organisations. She also acts for employees, advising on the full spectrum of individual workplace issues, including Employment Tribunal claims. Over the years Joanna’s work in this field has fuelled her passion for encouraging a positive style of management with a strong focus on employee wellbeing, in turn resulting in increased productivity for the employer and a greater opportunity for individual personal development. It was for this reason that through JMA HR & Legal, Joanna created and is championing the Top Workplaces in Hampshire Awards.
